It has been a while since my last post due to Junior Staff Member being unavailable to type up my thoughts. It was suggested that I should apologise for the lack of updates. Me apologise? When you’re this good looking there is no need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I would have given him a serious ticking off, but he has been snouting and it really is one of my favourite things, so I can’t hold that against him. I do have plenty of things that I do hold against him, just not participating in something I enjoy so much. It was mentioned that you dear reader may not know what snouting is, in which case you are in for a treat today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As you poor humans (I imagine most life-forms reading this are human, if you are not then pretend this sentence doesn’t exist) don’t have a snout it is quite difficult for you to participate in snouting, but not impossible. So, a snout is the part of an animal that sticks out below our eyes and houses our nose and mouth. Using a snout to charge into things such as a door, to burrow under ground in a hole, or to tunnel into a hedge is snouting. I love all of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sticking my snout under a hedge, getting the smells, the tastes, the sensations and if I’m really lucky a bit of muffin that someone has dropped… it is just glorious. As well as the sheer joy of it, my staff cannot see what I’m doing when I’m seriously snouting as most of my body is in the hole\/hedge\/whatever, this means that anything I find I can eat and they will never know. No fights where they try to take my<\/strong> snouting trophy for themselves, which they are prone to doing if I find good food in clear sight as if they should get to eat the food that I<\/strong> found. I’m sure Senior Staff Member enjoys eating my finds more than the food she makes herself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don’t know what Junior Staff Member was snouting out, but it must have been really good. Initially there was a concrete garage floor and day by day he burrowed through it until there was no floor left. Every time I saw him he had his head down snouting at the floor. Now, I have a seriously strong snout, but I’m not convinced that even my wonderful snout could have done that. I am disappointed that he wouldn’t allow me to join in the fun and I’m left forever wondering what it was he was following the smell of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyway, that’s a quick overview of snouting and my love of it. I do urge you to give it a try yourself, even if you don’t have a proper snout you can stick your head under a hedge, join in the fun and who knows what treasure you may find in there?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
